Long long ago….. I know how long ago….. Its 25 years back … :)
As you guess , no
transport, no postal service , no telegraph..of course no telephone to include
in the list….. ( Only a few in each area had telephone in those days and they
offered to help the neighbours when they receive any incoming call)
Morning as usual while reading the newspaper, read the astrology column which I never read
before. The astrospeak for my star that day was that I would receive an important communication.
I was wondering the whole day how I would receive it…….no
postal service……no transport……..
Tick…..Tick…..Tick…… The clock struck 7………..Almost the day
was over and I proceeded with my chores and kids.
Dringggggg……My door bell rang.
There stood this little boy of my friend to inform me that I
would be receiving an overseas call in a
short while then.
Vow…… Who was this??? From where???
Surprise……..
Rushed across the
scary bushes at that time to reach their house in the next street……
Gosh…..its my long time
friend with whom there was no communication for years, since the friend
had moved overseas for living.
Yeah….It was time to believe the stars and astrology…
Feeling wonderful till now ……about this yet another
memorable moment of my life…..
P.S : The day I returned after hospitalization of my
daughter for some illness…… to take care
of my little son, happened to receive two New Year Greeting Cards(1991) from a
friend and my sissy……. that too after few
years of no communication , made me burst into tears. So heart warming
and soothing moment which I cherish till date, which we do not get often these
days though we have lot of communication modes and we say the world is a
village.....
